INFORMATION

The Town of Newcastle is offering portable reusable batteries to help residents during storm events and power outages through our Battery Lending Program.
The program process is simple; you sign a waiver, take a training on how to use the battery, pick up the battery pre-storm (or day of, if during open office hours), sign a check list that indicates all the added equipment is with the battery and take it home. After the storm, return the battery within 48 hours after the pick-up date.
The batteries are stored in 2 locations; The Town Office and the Fire Station Community Room. We have 27 batteries available.
Please see our resources listed below to learn more about this program. Our resources consist of; helpful emergency contacts/organizations, the waiver application, a battery safety infographic (supplied by Lincoln County Emergency Management Agency) and a photo of our resource magnet. To obtain a physical copy of the magnet, stop by the Town Office.
For more questions, to pre-pick up a battery or to submit a waiver, please contact the Deputy Clerk.
